Starting tomorrow I’m living out of a suitcase for the next 14 days. This is that bag. A small duffel bag crammed to the gills with stuff. 3 pairs of pants, 4 shirts, a pair of shorts, socks, underwear, and other things like granola bars, toiletries, and such. This is going to be interesting. It seems like every time I travel abroad the suitcase gets smaller and the camera bag gets bigger. The Kata bag in the background holds all my still camera gear for the trip. It’s a mid-sized sling backpack that has enough room for 2 camera bodies and an assortment of lenses and additional stuff. Tomorrow when we are all at the airport I’ll try and get a shot of all the gear we are taking and uploaded it here as well as at callhermama.com. I have a few more small items I need to pick up before the trip. Things like a power converter that will work in South Africa, as well as a hat. Yes my thinning hair needs some help protecting my scalp.
So, this should be interesting, I’m curious how long it will take a pair of cargo pants to dry on a clothes line in my bathroom, or a pair of socks. I’m thinking that if I can pull off traveling for this long, with this little of stuff I’ll never need to pack large again. We’ll see about that in 14 days I guess.
