This morning a friend of mine sent me a link to the WVIL concept camera. It’ll be interesting to see if this ever actually makes it to market, but it sure looks cool.
Designed by Artefact, the camera blends concepts from touch screen phones, with traditional photography, and micro four thirds cameras like the Olympus EP series.
The WVIL concept takes the connectivity and embedded application capabilities of today’s smart phones and wirelessly connects them with interchangeable SLR-quality lenses. Artefact thinks of it as a solution for photographers who expect the power of a modern mobile device but who also demand uncompromised quality with digital imaging.
The video might seem pretty much like science fiction now, but so did your iPhone less than ten years ago.
