I Am Zlatan, an iPad Biography.

At the end of 2011 Swedish football star Zlatan Ibrahimovic released an autobiography for the iPad in his native language. While the app looked intriguing I had no idea what was really going on until now. An English translation is out, and the application lives up to all expectations.

The book is billed as “A reading experience completely re-imagined for touchscreen“. The application allows readers to explore both vertically and horizontally across the book metaphor while allowing for deep dives into rich interactive content that moves beyond the book experience.

There are 16 primary scenes within the book, which are all tied to the timeline, and stop motion video that has been used to execute much of the animation within the app. The book is rich with content featuring 130 images and 30 videos integrated into each chapter, carefully selected to enhance the original story.

The video below gives you an idea of what this application does, but you really need to play with it in person to get the full concept. Its a great example of where digital books are headed in the future.
