I’ve been using After Effects for 20 years, and during that time I have watched the masking tools in the software go from primitive and painful, to robust and very useable. The video below shows the history of After Effects rotoscoping tools from the humble pen tool though the Roto Brush. The thing that has me excited in this video is the sneak peek at the end of this clip. The one that shows what Adobe will be introducing at NAB this year. I like this a lot.
