“Flight of the Stories” for the 100 Year Anniversary of The War to end All Wars.

The 28th of July marks the 100 year anniversary of the start of the First World War. I’m keenly aware of it because the World War One Memorial is located in Kansas City less than four blocks from where I work. As we approach the anniversary there are many memorial and recognition services planned for the “War to End All Wars”.

Aardman of Wallace & Gromit fame have created a 90 second spot for the Imperial War Museum, London and to commemorate the First World War Centenary anniversary in the United Kingdom later this month. This animated spot is part of a much larger multi-platform campaign that has been developed over the last year.

Directed by Darren Dubicki the spot takes the viewer on a journey that not only travels distance, but crosses time as well connecting today to those that never came home. There are two videos below, the 90 second spot and the making of. The making of video goes into the thinking and strategy behind the piece and is well worth watching to see how the create was fleshed out for this.
