This ad campaign has been running since the end of November for British retailer Harvey Nichols. The campaign focuses on the self indulgence that sometimes comes with the holiday season. The thing that I love about this though, is all of the horrid thoughtless gifts shown in the ad are available for purchase at Harvey Nichols. The “Sorry” campaign has a dedicated website, so you can buy yourself something nice with all the money you saved buying your grandmother paper clips.
Harvey Nichols
Harvey Nichols Holiday Walk of Shame.
Harvey Nichols Women’s wear has put out a new holiday TV spot entitled “Walk of Shame”. The spot is a tongue in cheek poke at the morning after the night before. There is no voice over or spoken script in the piece, just shots of women walking home in the early morning hours after… well you know…
The spot ends with a simple editorial call to action, that is really pretty funny. There is an almost voyeuristic quality to the way this is shot and edited. In every shot there is someone taking a second look at the woman as she passes, not in judgement but more out of curiosity. Also check out the expressions on the women’s faces. They run the gamut from embarrassment to owning it.
For such a simple concept, there is a lot of complexity going on in the shots, and interaction of the people.
